The National Press Photographers Association at Penn State presents “Freelancing in 2020: A Lecture and Q&A” with photo and video journalist Brett Carlsen. Carlsen will discuss the landscape of freelancing in 2020 and the importance of having a diverse portfolio, and will share some of his award-winning work. At the conclusion of the lecture, Carlsen will answer questions attendees may have.
Pennsylvania native Brett Carlsen works in commercial filmmaking, documentary and advertising photography. His clients have included ESPN, The New York Times, Time Magazine and Getty Images. Carlsen is also the host of the popular photo and video journalism podcast, Reciprocity Podcast.
The lecture will take place at 7 p.m. EST on Thursday, Sept. 24. Students who have an active NPPA membership will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Carlsen at 6 p.m. before the event begins. The lecture will be delivered via ZOOM. To receive an invite to the ZOOM call, RSVP.
