Important: You do not need to download both virtual machine images. Only download either VirtualBox or VMware and the virtual image that works with that respective piece of software.
Directions for installing Preliminary Round Image on VirtualBox

From the Virtual Images and Questions page, click on "Virtual Machine And Question Sheet", and then download "PrelimRound.vdi". Please make sure to download the Preliminary Round Questions.docx file as well
If you do not have VirtualBox yet, please download and and install VirtualBox here. Once installed, run VirtualBox
Click the option titled “New” in the top left-hand corner of VirtualBox
A new window will appear on your screen titled Name and operating system. In the “Name” section, type in Preliminary Round. In the “Type” section, click and select Linux. In the “Version” section, select the option Ubuntu (64- bit). Click next when you complete this portion.
On the next page, set the memory size to 1024 MB. Click Next when completed
On the page titled “ Hard disk”, select the option “Use an existing hard disk file”. In the area below, click the folder nest to the drop -down bar and find the prelimround.vdi file you downloaded earlier. When you have selected the prelimround.vdi file, click create.
Click on the PrelimRound Virtual Machine and then click on start, the password is "HaveFun2017"
Directions for installing Preliminary Round Image for VMware

On the Virtual Images and Questions page click on "Virtual Machine and Question Sheet", and then download "PrelimRound.ova". Make sure to download the Preliminary Round Questions.docx file as well.
If you do not have VMware, please download it here and install it before continuing. Once installed, run Vmware
Once you have VMware running, click on “Open a Virtual Machine”
Locate where the prelimround.ova file you had downloaded is located and double click on it. A new window will open, leave everything as it appears and click Import
Once PrelimRound is completely imported, double click on PrelimRound to begin. The password to unlock the virtual machine is "HaveFun2017". When booting the virtual machine, if a box opens and asks “Do you want to try to connect this virtual device every time you power on the virtual machine?”, click no and log in the password
