Jacob Fields

I am a physics graduate student at Penn State.

I am interested in many aspects of numerical relativity and computational astrophysics, including neutron star mergers, high-energy phenomena such as gamma-ray bursts, and numerical methods. Some of my prior projects include developing a relativistic hydrodynamics solver for the Dendro-GR framework and exploring the effects of inhomogeneous interstellar media on long GRB emissions. My current work focuses on development for GR-Athena++ and AthenaK, effects of the nuclear equation of state on neutrino emissions in binary neutron star mergers, and simulating mergers between neutron stars and substellar-mass black holes.

A copy of my undergraduate thesis is available here. My CV can be found here. My GitHub page is located here.
