For my post this week, I choose to do a website called “Power of Family Meals“. This site is one that I visit often when looking for meals to make for my own little family. I enjoy the blog posts that the site offers to help people fight through the lack of family meals they may have.
This site has three main parts to it. The first is their family meals resource page. This page is where I go the most to figure out what I want to make for dinner, talking points to have with my little family, and so much more. The second part is their recipe section. I loved this section because they make it easy to pick recipes for the week with not only shopping lists but healthy options as well. The last part is their mealtime moments portion of their site. This has helped me talk to others about what they can talk about during meals.
Family meals are very important to me. I enjoy having family meals and working through problems at the dinner table. This site helps me so much with planning and organizing the food portion of my life; which to me is a very big portion. Feeding my fiance and our little girl is something that I take pride in doing right as a nutrionist and a mom!
I think people could use this site to help them with their own troubles in their lives. Family meals are proven to help with lots of things like health problems, stress, and disgressions! Often, people aren’t sure how to fix things in the family nor talk with their family face to face. The age of eating alone, getting take out, and being too busy to physically have face to face conversations is behind us. I believe that this site could easily help us solve this problem.
I often find it difficult to start a conversation with my little family at the dinner table. Most things we talk about during the day and by the time dinner is ready we have run out of things to talk about. WIth the help of this website, I now have a TON of new ideas and options for talking with my family!
I encourage everyone to head to this website and look at the options there for you. Recipes include slow cooker meals, healthy options, and even desserts. It can help to save you time and money. Also, the talking points are wonderful to start off a conversation, but always remember that it is your life and your family. So make sure that you are doing things the way you want too. This site makes it easy for you to work through problems and have support through figuring out why you should make family meals important to you! I believe that people can make a difference in their family’s lives through family meals and having a simple conversation with the ones they love! Let’s get to eating!
