Nutrition and Medical Professions Careers courses for students – Spring 2014

If you are interested in learning more about what you can do with a major in nutrition, consider adding Nutr 170, Careers in Nutrition, to your spring schedule.   This one credit seminar class is taught on Fridays, from 12:20-1:10 PM.  Each week a speaker will discuss their professional path.  You can learn what they are doing now, how they got there and how you can pursue a similar position.  Most of the speakers are PSU grads.  The class also contains practical career skills such as developing a resume, conducting an occupational interview and getting started on your professional portfolio.

Nutrition is an excellent major for students interested in other medical careers such as MD, OD, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, dentistry and more.  You might find SC 201, Medical Professions, to be an excellent class.  This one credit seminar class meets Wednesdays, 6:30-7:20 PM. Speakers will learn about the different medical professions and related information such as how to pay for medical school and the admissions process.
