Nutrition Alumni Panel this Sunday at the Nittany Lion Inn

Students always have questions about what lies ahead after college.  This Sunday, the Nutrition and Dietetics Alumni Society is sponsoring an opportunity for you to speak with Nutritional Sciences Alumni in an informal setting.  Three panelist s will be giving a brief overview of their careers and providing lots of time for student questions.  The panelists will be:

Michelle McGavin –  B.S., PSU 2011 – The J.M. Smucker Company – Orrville, OH. Michelle is presently an Industry & Government Affairs, Regulatory Compliance Analyst

Chris Taylor, Ph.D. – National Institutes of Health – Washington DC.   Chris is currently the Senior Science Adviser to the Office of Dietary Supplements at the National Institutes of Health.  She has also been the Director of FDA’s Office of Nutritional Products, Labeling and Dietary Supplements and has also served as lead of the US delegation to the United Nations-sponsored Codex Alimentarius Committee on Nutrition Labeling. She was also assigned tours of duty at the Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN and at the World Health Health Organization in Geneva where she worked on the topic of approaches for determining dietary supplement safety.

Nicole Patience MS, RD, LDN, CDE – M.S., PSU 2003 – Consulting Dietitian for Bryn Mawr College Dining Services and Student Health.  She has previously worked at Temple University in Clinical Nutrition and was the Student Health Coordinator.

The program is being held in the Alumni Lounge of the Nittany Lion Inn from 10-11 AM, Sunday, April 6.
