Job Announcement: Head Start Nutrition Specialist

Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc is seeking a Nutrition Specialist for their Head Start program in Uniontown, PA. A Penn State graduate held this position and is leaving to begin her Dietetic Internship.

Position qualifications: BS degree in nutrition or dietetics. One year work experience working in a health related field, preferably working with children and experience providing community nutrition services to pregnant women, infants, toddlers and preschool age children and their families.

Summer Internship with Online Magazine “Foodie On Campus”

A summer internship opportunity was recently announced with an Online magazine for college students titled “Foodie On Campus”.  They are looking for nutrition students interested in writing, photography or who have social media talents.

Summer Internship Announcement

Foodie on Campus is thrilled to announce its Summer 2014 internship openings to all students who are passionate about eating well and staying healthy on campus. We are currently recruiting the following interns:

  • Writing Interns
  • Social Media Interns
  • Photography Intern

This internship will give students the opportunity to work on a project with a nationally known Registered Dietitian while gaining valuable nutrition communications skills.

Summer Internship with Joy Bauer – NBC Today Show

This internship is appropriate for graduating seniors, former graduates and graduate students.

Joy Bauer, nutrition and health expert for the NBC Today Show, has two internship openings for the summer.  The internships are unpaid and will run from June 2nd through September 1st. Students who have completed an undergraduate degree in nutrition or at least one semester of coursework in a graduate nutrition program are eligible to apply.  Though our company is based in New York City, we communicate with interns remotely via email and telephone.  The time commitment is part-time, approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, but is subject to vary depending on Joy’s media schedule.  Responsibilities include researching nutrition topics for Today Show segments; magazines; and other national media, writing articles and other materials for Joy’s website and social media, and performing some administrative tasks.  Past interns have found this to be a very rewarding experience, as they are given the opportunity to contribute to television, print, and web media seen by millions of people across the country.  If you are interested, please email your resume and cover letter to Tina Gowin Carlucci ( by May 12th.
