Camp Hamwi (summer camp for kids with diabetes) is accepting applications

The Central Ohio Diabetes Association is now accepting applications for jobs at Camp Hamwi 2015, a residential summer camp for children living with diabetes.  This is a unique summer job opportunity that will give students a chance to work in a variety of settings relevant to their education.

Each year a multidisciplinary health care team operates Camp Hamwi.  This team includes dietitians, dietetic students, nurses, nursing students, paramedics, physicians, and medical students. Students can benefit from working as part of this specialized medical team no matter where they are in their education.

As a member of the dietary staff, students can expect to spend 95% of the time working in the kitchen to help prepare and serve meals and snacks.  The remainder of the time is spent teaching nutrition education to campers and assisting in night rounds.  More experienced students are encouraged to apply for the food service director and assistant food service director positions.
