It is time to Join the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a student member. The new membership year just started and 2016 is a historic time to be a member of the society. The Academy (originally known as the American Dietetic Association) was founded in 1917. This membership year ushers in the Centennial year of the organization; 100 years of service and promotion of nutrition and dietetics. Membership brings with it multiple benefits: a subscription to the Journal of the Academy, a colorful Food and Nutrition magazine, opportunities to network with other professionals by joining special practice groups, participating in workshops and regional meetings, eligibility for scholarships with both the national and state organization and much more. Visit the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics website to learn more about the benefits of membership and access the membership application for students. Penn State is an ACEND accredited program. As an undergraduate you are enrolled in the “Didactic” program in dietetics. Our DPD program director is Dr. Coleman Kelly.
This is a great first step to develop your professional network. I highly encourage you to join.
