Brittany Knick, the Director of Nutrition for Keystone Diabetic Kids Camp (KDKC) is seeking dietetic student interns for their summer camp. KDKC is a camp where children with type 1 diabetes between the ages ages 8 – 15 can come to have fun, meet other kids with diabetes and experience camp. KDKC will be held at the Camp Victory facility, located in central Pennsylvania from June 17-22, 2018. Throughout the week campers work closely with counselors, clinicians and dietetic interns to learn more about their diabetes and diabetes management in a casual, non-clinical environment while they participate in all the activities Camp Victory has to offer.
KDKC is looking for volunteers to be Dietetic Interns from June 16-22, 2018. Volunteers should have an interest in gaining nutrition experience by working with children who have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Volunteers will be responsible for determining the carbohydrate count of meals and snacks, helping the campers to count their carbohydrates during the meal times, creating a nutrition education lesson for the age group they are assigned to and help during the day at various activities. Interested students can apply by completing the application at the site below.
Thank you, Brittany Knick MS, RDN, LDN
