Planning to Graduate this Summer?

It is the student’s responsibility to let the University know when you are actually completing the final course requirements for your degree.  Summer Commencement will be held in the Bryce Jordan Center on Saturday, August 10, 2019. To participate, you must register by going into LionPATH and declaring your intent to graduate (“apply for graduation”) by Friday, June 14th .

Your application is needed to start the process of reviewing your degree requirements for graduation and receiving approval from the college to graduate. You should also check in with your advisor to ensure that you have truly met all degree requirements. If you have any credits from outside of Penn State that are still needed to fulfill degree requirements here, you must fully complete the transfer process before the registrar will be able to approve your degree completion.

DESCRIPTION

The Penn State Berkey Creamery is now accepting applications for an Assistant Retail Store Supervisor. Responsibilities include; assisting in the daily supervision of the retail store operation, supervising student and technical service employees, product inventory and ordering, and assisting in the supervision of ecommerce shipping, daily paperwork, money management and the overall safety and sanitation of the Creamery storefront. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a hospitality, business or a nutrition related discipline or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in recent retail management, preferably in the convenience store, restaurant or supermarket field highly preferred. Strong experience in all facets of retail management operations, customer service, accounting/money management, invoicing, inventory control and ordering, and employee hiring, training and scheduling are a must. A working knowledge of delegating job duties and responsibilities, stocking and rotating procedures, and sanitation rules and regulations are required. Additionally, experience in dairy and or retail sales and/or the manufacturing of dairy products are a plus. Food Service Certification/ServSafe is recommended but not required, as this will be part of normal Creamery training requirements. Candidate must possess initiative and be professional, honest, responsible, a flexible team player who is motivated, dedicated and a quick learner. Must be able to succeed in a fast-pace environment and be willing to help whenever needed. The position encompasses flexible shifts, including a variation of days, nights, and weekends.
