Urgent Poll Regarding NUTR 446, 451, 452, 453, and 400 in Fall 2020

If you plan to take any of the courses listed above in Fall 2020, please fill out the survey at the link below ASAP. Due to glitches in how Lionpath is reading prerequisites and corequisites, I may need to enroll some students in these classes administratively. The survey should take about 60 seconds to complete. If you do not plan to take any of these courses in the fall, you do not need to fill out the survey.

Dietetic Interns Needed for Keystone Diabetic Kids Camp (KDKC)

KDKC is seeking nutrition students to volunteer as dietetic interns for our June 20-26, 2020 camp. As a dietetic intern, we ask that the nutrition students have a desire to learn more about how individuals live with type 1 diabetes, a willingness be a self-starter, work as a team member, and be excited to work with children and adolescents in a camp environment.

Dietetic Interns will be responsible for determining the carbohydrate count of meals and snacks prior to the start date of camp (with the help of our nutrition department administration); helping the campers to count their carbohydrates during the meal/snack times; creating a nutrition education lesson for the age group they are assigned to, and help during the day at various camp-related activities.

KDKC is a camp where children with type 1 diabetes between the ages of  7 and 16 years old can come to have fun, meet other kids with type1 diabetes and experience camp life. Our camp will be held at the Camp Victory facility, located in Millville, Pennsylvania. Throughout the week campers work closely with counselors, clinicians and dietetic interns to learn more about their diabetes and diabetes management in a casual, non-clinical environment while they participate in all the activities Camp Victory has to offer.

To apply, or if you have any questions, please contact Brittany Knick at  nutritionatkdkc@gmail.com.
