Get involved! Join SNA.

Get involved! Join SNA.

Hello Fellow Penn Staters! As you read in the last blog entry there are many ways to get involved in nutrition including Research, Clinical and Food Service avenues. There is also another way to become involved in nutrition on campus. You can do this by joining the Student Nutrition Association (SNA). The goals of SNA are to help nutrition majors at Penn State obtain professional development skills, become involved in community service activities involving nutrition, make friends more easily within the major and HAVE FUN!

This year we will be having a few speakers during meetings talk about strategies for getting an internship, career options, emphases and much more. We will also be heavily involved in THON and will go on all 3 canning trips. SNA also has a mentoring program for younger students to ask upper class-men questions about the major and college life in general. Also, we potentially have an event in October about food and sustainable eating. There will be many community service and social events throughout the year which will be gratifying as well as really fun!

SNA is really easy to join too! All you have to do is go to the Involvement Fair on Monday August 26th or Tuesday August 27th, find our table and sign up to be on the listserv. Once you are on the listserv you will get all the important emails about what is going on with the club.

Our first meeting of the year is Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 7:00pm in 10 Henderson (downstairs on the HUB side of the building). Hope to see you there!

President, Student Nutrition Association
