Library E-Book Program

An additional option to increase affordability for your students is through the use of library licensed E-Books. This program is possible through a partnership between Penn State Libraries and World Campus. The list of available E-Books for the current semester is found here. Students can find these E-Books directly in the Library Resources tab in Canvas. Once they click there, they are brought to an E-Reserves folder which will contain all of their E-Reserves and E-Books available. Students are able to access the E-Books at no cost to them. The E-Books are automatically added for any required materials for World Campus. The current process for residence courses who use one of the E-Books on the list is to email ul-reserveshelp@lists.psu.edu with the course SISID. This will allow us to add the E-Book to your course manually.

This program is saving students a potential of anywhere from $383,000 to $417,000 dollars per semester. In addition to being in Canvas, the E-Books are in the Libraries catalog.  If you are interested in getting an E-Book added to this program but do not see it on the current list, it is either because it is not a World Campus course or we do not have a favorable licensing model for that E-Book. In that case, reach out to your subject librarian and the online learning librarian to provide a list of similar alternative books that could work.
