Overview

Online students deserve to feel like they are part of the Penn State community. However, traditional models of engagement like inviting students to on-campus events or participating in iconic events such as THON are not feasible for online students.

Therefore, we have developed new ways of engaging with online students. These include events such as Blind Date with a Book, student webinars, integrating in New Student Orientation with a Special Collections Penn State History timeline, and working to invite students to view events at a distance.

We are actively looking for other ways to engage and outreach with World Campus students. Future goals are to support students in undergraduate research and increase our reference support hours through innovative delivery models.
