Prior Approval Decision Checklist
Use this decision-making checklist to evaluate prior approval requests. Consider the specific details of the proposed activity alongside the person’s workload, performance, and the overall alignment with departmental goals. This checklist will guide you in making informed decisions that uphold both faculty commitments and department standards.
NOTE: It is important for you to know that per policy AC80, approval should not be unreasonably withheld. In addition, faculty may request a written explanation for the decision and have the right to appeal any denial.
