COINS Quick Start Guide for Disclosures

Use this Quick Start Guide to log in to COINS and submit your Disclosure Profile. For more detailed guidance with step-by-step instructions and screenshots, please visit the COINS Learning Path webpage and select the Learning Path that most closely aligns to your role at the University (e.g., Tenure-Line and Research Faculty, Teaching Faculty, etc.)

Start Your Disclosure 

  1. Navigate to coins.psu.edu. 
  2. Log in using your Penn State Account email address (e.g., abc123@psu.edu) and password. NOTE: College of Medicine and Penn State Health users should review the following webpage to locate and use their Penn State Account credentials to log in to COINS: Log In to Penn State Systems.
  3. In your My Inbox, click the link to your Disclosure Profile Workspace.
  4. If your My Inbox is empty, click the COI tab to navigate to your Disclosure Profile Workspace.  
  5. Click the Edit Disclosure Profile buttonEdit Disclosure profile button  that appears below the Instructions Center. 

Fill Out Your Disclosure Profile Form 

  1. After clicking the Edit Disclosure Profile button, your Disclosure Profile form appears.  
  2. Click Continue to move through the form, completing training (if necessary) and answering the required questions. 

Important Note about Entities:

    • When disclosing multiple activities/interests related to the same entity (e.g., consulting and equity ownership in the same company), be sure to select ALL relevant disclosure types under that single entity.
    • Attempting to add the same entity more than once will result in an error message.
    • If you need to add activities or interests to an existing entity, you will update the entity.

Submit Your Disclosure Profile 

  1. On the final page of your Disclosure Profile, click the Submit Disclosure Profile button in the middle of the page. 
  2. The Instruction Center should say No Action Required. If it still says Action Required, read and follow the instructions in the Instruction Center.
