Meet Laura

Laura Gamble

Resource Coordinator | Research Assistant

Laura moved to the Pittsburgh area with her family in July 2021 from Casper, Wyoming. She graduated from Casper College in May 2022 with an Associate of Science in Psychology. She intends to pursue her PhD following her May 2024 graduation from Penn State and envisions a future in academia & writing.

In addition to her role as a full-time student, Laura is a mother of four teenagers and young adults who constantly make her laugh and teach her how to be more human. Her philosophy, regardless of role, is to position herself as a learner. She aims to cultivate balance in all areas of her life: excellence matters, people matter more. Laura connects people and collaborates with teams to transform situations. She is passionate about developing and empowering others, and often finds herself an “accidental leader.” Notably, in 2017 she initiated the effort to create central Wyoming’s first “Free Store,” offering dignity with access to the surrounding community; she led the effort for four years. Laura imagines a future marked by healing and innovation.

She is passionate about discovering novel ways to create meaningful change and hopes to offer something significant to the field of psychology. If she is not cheering her kids on from the sidelines with her husband, you might find her exploring hiking trails, birdwatching, writing, sipping good coffee with great friends, singing with a local choir, or practicing yoga.
