Latest Fashion Trends! (& Saying Goodbye!!)

Sadly, this is my last fashion blog for the rest of the few weeks left in the semester 🙁 I personally feel like my blogs have improved my writing skills as well as the structure in my writing. Throughout my two semesters of participating in passion blogs, my love for fashion grew immensely. While figuring out what exactly I want to write about each week for my blogs, I found myself learning more and more about fashion and the amazing history behind it. Like I said in multiple blogs before this one, fashion has been a growing passion of mine for as long as I can remember. The tremendous amount of effort I put into structuring my blogs as well as finding the right words to catch my audience’s attention, has made a huge impact on the way I take fashion very seriously. Alright… Enough of my rambling… For my last fashion blog of the school year, I decided to basically “mimic” my first couple of fashion blogs and talk about a few of the latest fashion trends. Since I won’t be posting weekly fashion blogs anymore, I thought, the least I could do is keep y’all up to date with the latest fashion!

Pastel bucket hats!

For the first fashion trend of spring 2020, I came across these super cute pastel bucket hats almost everyone has been wearing. From celebrities, going to a famous fashion show to regular people walking down the street, I’ve literally seen everyone rocking this item! While blocking out the bright sun from shining in your eyes, this soft-colored hat is a cute and trendy accessory that is great for any season and is so versatile that you can wear it with absolutely every and anything!

Vests!

Vests are back! Whether it be denim vests, wool vests, to finally silky-textured vests. These throw on and go garments made a huge comeback this spring and were featured on several runways. No matter the style of the vest you choose to wear, these vests are extremely affordable and easy to pair with!

Bralettes under blazers!

Another fashion trend of 2020 I came across is the idea of wearing a bralette underneath an oversized blazer. This simple yet really cute look can be spotted on a lot of celebrities at big awards or fashion events. People typically match their bralette to the oversized blazer. However, the beauty of fashion is that you don’t always have to match. Simply wearing a let’s say, black and white bralette with a bright yellow blazer can add a really nice touch to your final look! Be creative with your clothing colors and styles!

How To Wear A Bralette - 25 Outfit Ideas

Leather!

Now, this specific trend and I often bump heads. One day, I’m all for the leather look, but then the next day I would cringe at just the thought of wearing anything leather…  Just because I personally have my days with the whole “wearing leather” trend doesn’t mean anyone of you guys can’t be obsessed with the look! Anything leather is the one material that everyone gets super excited about. Whether it be leather pants, a leather skirt, leather shirt, or even a leather dress, this look has made more and more designers expand and experiment with their pieces.

Now that you reached the end of this week’s blog, I personally want to thank each and every one of you who actually enjoyed reading about fashion just as much as I enjoyed writing about it. This has been a really overwhelming first and second semester, but taking a break from it all and writing about something I loved since I could walk and talk, made it thousand times easier! I hope you all are staying safe and healthy with all that’s going on in the world right now!

Self Care Beauty Tips!

Typically my blogs are centered around fashion tips, fashion guides, and honestly anything having to do with the latest fashion trends. However, we’re going to take a minor step back from everything fashion and dive into some beauty and self-care rituals we can all participate in while trapped in the house. This past couple of days I’ve actually been feeling a little under the weather. I’ve been having major headaches and body aches that just never seem to go away. My sisters always tell me to take a break from doing homework because staring at a computer screen for hours doesn’t really help. But with the crazy amounts of homework I’ve been given this past couple of weeks, it’s just so hard to actually take a break and time off for myself lately. However, after being forced to actually take a break, (literally, my sisters took my laptop and hid it from me for the entire day) I’ve looked up some relaxing beauty tips to keep my mind off of homework and more so focused on myself. Lucky you, I chose to share these helpful and soothing tips with you all!

Beauty tip #1: Give yourself an at-home facial ladies and gents!

When I was in middle school I was going through pretty rough times and honestly didn’t know how to get over them, until my aunt suggested trying out some at-home facials. When she suggested this I thought she was out of her mind. I thought, “how would a simple little facial help me with all the stress I’m dealing with… How?” So I took her up on that offer and tried out some facials… all I could say is… people really need to take the time out of their day to try out some facials because it works wonders. Unfortunately, I had stopped doing my daily facials and of course… I started to stress out even more. I came across a brand of face masks called, “Yes to” and it has been absolutely amazing on my skin and mental wellbeing! I highly recommend y’all!

Beauty tip #2: Attempt a new hairstyle/ makeup look!

Now this one is for all the ladies out there.. (sorry gents!) It has been scientifically proven that a young woman feels 100% her best and confident while looking 100%. Since I’ve been in the house for days now with nowhere to go, I decided to try out and practice some of my makeup looks. I watched a whole bunch of youtube tutorials on how to create the “smoky eye effect” and the first few tries didn’t come out so good, but with more practice, I’m sure I’ll be your next professional MUA! (Really wish I had taken pictures to show you all.. yikes!) Besides struggling with new makeup looks, I decided to try something new with my hair. My natural hair is pretty curly and a bit wild at times, so I tried out some natural curly hairstyles that I wouldn’t typically wear. One style I tried out was a curly twist-out puff. This look took about 2 and a half hours to do just cause I naturally take hours doing my hair and making sure it comes out perfect. All I can say about this style is that it’s super cute and very easy to do! I’ll be sure to try out some more natural looks (and remember to take pictures of them!) and let you all know how they came out!

Lastly beauty tip #3: Meditate! Meditate! Meditate!

Towards the end of the first semester, I was going through a lot and didn’t know how to get through it on my own. So I took a trip down to CAPS and asked for guidance. One counselor down at CAPS suggested doing yoga and meditating before bed because the situation I went through kind of made it hard for me to fall asleep at night. Not only did the mediating and yoga help tremendously with the situation but it also helps till this very day, for when I’m feeling overwhelmed in schoolwork or just overwhelmed in general. I found a couple of soothing youtube videos on meditation and thought I’d share it! Meditation also helps with clearing out your mind when you’re stuck on an essay or something!

Quaran-Queen! (aka: Quarantine)

Hey, fashionistas! It is now day 76 of quarantine… at least that’s what it feels like. Who else has been extremely bored at home with absolutely nothing to do?! This past couple of days felt like it has been merging on an endless loop at this point. My days are kind of like a routine… (If I don’t have class..) waking up at practically noon, showering, eating breakfast at nearly two in the afternoon, trying out these new Tic Toc dances (cringy.. I know), working on a boatload of homework, and finally getting to bed around two in the morning… then repeat it all over again the next day. Since we’ve all been trapped in our homes this past couple of days I really don’t find it necessary to “dress up” just to sit in my living room. So today’s blog is dedicated to some of the simple and cozy quarantine looks I’ve been rocking!

Look 1: Can’t get any more basic than this…

Alright, so the first look you’d catch me in is the most basic look you could think of. A pair of black leggings and an oversized white tee. Since I only packed a few outfits to come back home with (not knowing we wouldn’t be going back to school) this set is my go-to. This is a perfect outfit to just throw on and lounge around the house in after a warm steamy shower.

Picture Of black leggings, a white tee, an oversized knit cardigan

Look 2: Jammies…

One thing I like about classes being switched to remote learning is the fact that I can stay in bed while signing onto zoom for class. When I was at school it was pretty hard for me to get up and get ready for early classes since at school I barely slept due to the amount of homework I’d be given… but now, I can stay in my warm and comfy bed while still learning and getting my work done. For those lazy days, I could honestly sit around in my pajamas for the whole day and not have a problem with it one bit. My favorite set of jammies to lounge in is this really cute satin two-piece set I got from… yup, you guessed it… Fashion Nova!

Look 3: What’s stopping us from working out now…

So I’m not sure about the rest of you but for me, I always say I’m going to start working out and eating healthy so I can finally have that “summer body.” But something always comes up, or I just don’t feel like working out so I push it for another day. However, now that we’re stuck in the house with literally nothing to do, I have no excuses now. My next look is simple activewear. I just throw on a pair of gym shorts and a long-sleeve quarter-zip shirt. Putting this outfit on motivates me a little bit more to actually start working out… at least at some point in the day.

Look 4: “Socks and sandals… (what what what!)”

If you don’t know where the phrase “socks and sandals (what what what!)” came from, I used to watch this show with my cousins growing up called, “Sonny with a Chance” and two of the main characters used to wear socks with sandals all the time and they made a rap song about it. I found it relatable because my cousins and I are always wearing socks and sandals when we’re just lounging around in the house.  If you lived in Beaver Hall and happened to walk around on the fifth floor, you would see me walking around in this very comfortable yet funny looking piece.

Summer 2020 Is Cancelled?!

Warning GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHY

Who would’ve thought we all would be stuck at home, not able to continue our second semester at school?? I think we all knew how dangerous and very serious the coronavirus was while still being at school, but how would we know it would get this crazy by this time? I’ve only been stuck in the house for about 3 weeks now but it feels like an eternity! For the amount of time I’ve been cooped up in the house, I had to keep myself occupied with other entertaining things besides the boatload of homework I had. So what did I do?? Yup, you guessed it… ONLINE SHOPPING!! Due to the coronavirus, a lot of stores and online stores have stopped shipping out merchandise until further notice, but the one online shop that stayed active throughout this pandemic is my all-time favorite… Fashion Nova! Because the virus has made a huge impact on the world and none of us really know when it’ll get better, who knows if summer 2020 will happen?! But just in case it does… I had to get ready for it! Below are a few cute pieces I ordered from Fashion Nova for the summer!

#1: Playing It Plaid Skort Set!

The first thing that caught my eye after getting onto the site, was this really cute 2 piece skort set. I remember in elementary and early middle school when skorts were popular but I never had any interest in owning one… however, things changed and this set had my name written all over it! Pairing this extremely adorable set with a pair of white slip-on vans or black laced up gladiator sandals would be the perfect look for a casual hot summer day.

#2: Mai Tai Babe Pant Set!

As you can see, I’m all about the sets! This really cute 2 piece set caught my attention at the right time! Every summer my family and I try to plan what we like to call, “Family Fun Day,” at least once throughout the three months all us kids are home. For these specific events, we like to have it based on a theme. Last summer it was based on all our favorite sports, and the summer before that was candy themed. Hopefully this summer, our theme is going to be tropical/ Hawaii. So I thought this set would go perfectly with the theme. I’m really hoping the summer will be better so this extremely cute outfit won’t go to waste.

#3: My Favorite Romper!

The name of this piece says it all! I’m not sure about you, but my summers are typically filled with late-night adventures to the park, mall, ice cream shops, and sometimes just to a friend’s house down the street and this outfit is perfect for those out of the blue trips. I had a piece like this in high school and absolutely loved it but unfortunately misplaced it while moving my things to Penn State. But luckily Fashion Nova came to my rescue once again by bringing this piece back on the internet for me to see and purchase!

#4: Knot Into The Drama Ribbed Halter Dress!

We all need a simple, yet super stylish short dress for the summer that’ll work great for just a casual look for a cookout. I know my family is all about the quality time spent with one other, especially when we all have the time. So for those last-minute cookouts, my aunt and uncle throw together, I’ll actually have the perfect outfit for it! Maybe pairing this dress with either all white converse or short black booties would set the look off!

** Side Note: Stay safe throughout this crazy pandemic we are currently going through. Wash your hands, and do as much social distancing you can until this hopefully blows over!

What’s In My Closet? Comfy/Cozy items I own!

The last couple of blogs I spoke about some trends to try this season, my favorite fashion influencers, and a couple of my favorite online shops, but I never really spoke about the items I actually have in my closet that I just adore. This week’s blog is on a few of my favorite comfy and cozy items I own. For starters, I would like to say that some of these items I mention below are either hammy downs or just items I chose to treat myself to overtime.

Being highly invested in fashion from a very early age, I’m often told I have entirely too many clothes or that I sometimes have a really “unique” sense of style, or constantly asked, how exactly do I keep all of my clothes stuffed away in my closet. My response most of the time would be, I have a lot of clothes because I shop smart, I keep all my clothes that still fit in the best condition it can be in, as well as some of my items being hammy downs from either my mother, siblings, or aunts and cousins. Down below are a few comfy items that I store in my closet that I just can’t live without and probably if I could.. Wear them all the time!

#1: “Living The Comfy Life Cropped Sweater”

Towards the ending of the first semester into the new semester, it was a pretty stressful and tough time for me. With me just feeling completely overwhelmed with school, friends from here issues, family and friends from back home issues, and a whole lot more… I decided to treat myself to a simple, yet super cute item I spotted on Fashion Nova. Since the weather has been extremely bipolar the past couple of days, not only does this light knitted sweater work great for those chilly days, it’s also very affordable and fashionably beautiful! I remember when I wore this sweater for the first time since purchasing it, I got compliments nonstop.

#2: “Summers casual: Distress Denim Miniskirt”

This next item is a hammy down from one of my older sisters. Fun fact… My sister had this black distressed denim mini skirt since her junior year of high school and wore it since.. Until she hit a growth spurt her freshman year of college and it became not so much of a skirt for her anymore.  Since I always bothered her about borrowing it all time, instead of throwing it out she passed it down to me. Just like it was her favorite summer item, it instantly became mine. This skirt looks great if you pair it with all white slip on vans and a simple off the shoulder white long sleeve tee! I can’t wait for summer to come back around so I can bring it back out and come up with more outfit ideas!

#3: “Powerblend Sweats: Pullover Hoodie”

Surprisingly, this item is a hammy down from my father. One Sunday afternoon my parents were doing a little decluttering of their closets and my father came across this red champion pullover hoodie he had for a while now but grew out of it. As soon as I laid my eyes on this bright red, comfy hoodie, I instantly thought of several “lazy day” outfits I could create on those days I don’t really feel like putting that much effort into my outfit. For those extremely cold days here at state college, this hoodie works wonders in keeping me stylish and cozy!

#4: “Too Cozy TurtleNeck Sweater Dress”

This next item I also purchased from Fashion Nova of course. I actually bought this dress in a really light grey, closer to silver, color for New Year, but it seems to me that the color is already sold out! I’m not sure about everyone else and where they live, but all I know is… It was pretty cold in New York on New Year’s Day. Even though it was extremely cold, I still wanted to bring in the New Years looking super fashionable, and this dress did just that! It kept me both warm and stylish for bringing in a new year! (styling this dress with a cute slim belt like the image below is also a very stylish go-to look!)

Favorite Online Shops!

I personally find online shopping a million times easier than physically going to the mall and actually walking around the stores looking for a new wardrobe or maybe just a quick outfit for a special event that day. I find that this can be extremely tiring sometimes. Now don’t get me wrong, there are many benefits to actually going to the stores and picking out an item. You’ll know right then and there if the item fits your liking, you’ll have a clue of what items at home will match perfectly with it, and if you end up not liking the item, it’s an easier process of exchanging or simply returning. However, this blog post is for all my online shopping lovers! With 0nline shopping, you experience the thrill of adding one item after another to your cart without being forced to buy it now, later, or sometimes… never, if you happen to find something better later on. Here’s a quick list of a few of my highly recommended, favorite online shops!

Image result for fashion nova banner

Starting with the most popular and my all-time FAVORITE online shop… Fashion Nova! Who doesn’t love Fashion Nova? Honestly, I really find it hard to not like Fashion Nova or what it has to offer. I first started shopping with Fashion Nova in the eighth grade when that’s all every girl at school would talk about. I’m not going to lie, my first time shopping with them wasn’t a great experience. My jeans came in two sizes too big, an image that I thought was a sweater dress was actually a really small crop sweater, and I thought I ordered black combat boots in a size seven, but instead got brown combat boots in a size eight and a half… Now, most would have stopped shopping with Fashion Nova just from that experience alone, but not me! I decided to give them another try.. And since then, I fell in love. From there, clothes being extremely affordable to the material is super comfortable and stretchy so you never feel like you are suffocating in your own clothes. I shop at Fashion Nova so much that every time my friends or family say they like a piece of clothing of mine before I could even open my mouth, the first thing they say is, “don’t tell me… Fashion Nova right?” Haha! At this point… I just think I should be a sponsor for them…

NEXT…

Image result for pretty little thing banner

Coming in at number two on my list is Pretty Little Things! This online store is pretty similar to Fashion Nova, with several trendy items that you just can’t resist. I mostly get my basic tees and occasionally “dressy” clothes from PLT because they tend to be heavier and stronger fabric than Fashion Nova or any other online store I shop with. Another reason why I like shopping with this company is that not only are their items already pretty cheap but they also offer student discounts, that basically add up to nearly free clothes.. and who doesn’t love free or at least cheap things while in college?!

THEN…

Image result for shein logo

Lastly on my list is SheIn, now I know there’s a lot of controversy about this company, however, I personally love SheIn clothing and the material they use. I’m not as consistent with ordering from them as I am with Fashion Nova and Pretty Little Things, but from the few times I did buy from them I was pretty satisfied. Everything I bought from them has held up for a great amount of time and didn’t cause any issues, however, one thing that did bother me is their shipping does take quite some time to get to you, depending on where you live. But other than that, I will be purchasing more often from them because they are great for trendy items that are in style for that specific season!

My Fashion Influencers!

Whether we choose to admit it or not, we all have at least one person in our lives that have a major influence on us. Regardless if it’s on our personality, our way of viewing things in the world, our acts of kindness, or in this case, our fashion sense. Growing up with two older sisters that took fashion very seriously, to the point where they started designing their own clothing, forced me to love fashion just as much as they did and possibly even more. Besides my siblings, mother, cousins, and aunts playing a huge role in my fashion choices, a lot of celebrities working with modeling agencies as well as starting their own clothing lines forced me to be creative with my style and bring out my inner fashionista!

Rihanna

Of course, number one on my list is the queen Riri! Not only is Rihanna my all-time FAVORITE artist, but her sense of style is so unique and vibrant. I remember when I was younger and she would drop a new music video, I would try to recreate her same looks with my mother’s clothing and shoes, leaving her room a complete mess! One thing I love about Rihanna’s style is that she doesn’t care about what others think. She allows her outfits to express her personality and what mood she’s in for that specific day. Even if she’s going for a more “relax” or “calm” look and throws on a pair of sweats, she still manages to add her own twist to it! Rihanna had a love for fashion at a very young age. Since she became a successful singer in the year 2005, she’s been talking nonstop about starting her own clothing line. From starting to model for several modeling agencies to designing some of her own clothing pieces that she would just wear out running errands, to then… The birth of her own clothing line, Fenty!

Rihanna Fenty Fashion Label

Demi Lovato

Next on my list is Demi Lovato. Some may say that Demi has more of a “simpler” fashion sense, but that’s what I love about it. Similar to Rihanna, Demi isn’t afraid of popping out in a bright orange suit while ignoring the public’s comments, and still, look absolutely stunning! I’d say her fashion sense is more “free-spirited” because she wears what she wants and how she wants without worrying about “normal social rules.” She allows her clothing to tell her story, as some may know, Demi has been through a lot this past couple of years and has fought through it all. Her confidence doesn’t just show through her amazing music but is also apparent in the way she dresses.

Beyoncé

How many of you saw this one coming? How could you be obsessed with fashion and not love every bit of Beyoncés fashion choices?! Queen Bee can literally rock anything she puts on. From gorgeous red carpet looks to her strolling around town looks, her fashion choices have been in the spotlight for the world to see and admire. Her style is more of an elegant and sometimes trendy look. If she’s not going to an award or fashion show wearing a delicate sheer fabric body fitting dress, you can spot her wearing ripped skinny jeans and a white tee. Sounds basic right? Not for Beyonce though! She manages to make such a simple outfit look absolutely remarkable with killer hairstyles and statement jewelry! No matter the occasion, Beyoncé is always ready to slay!

A Fashion Problem!!

Having a hard time finding the right dress that hugs your body just right, the perfect fitting shirt that doesn’t make your chest spill out, or the right pair of jeans that fit your thighs and hips all at once while still being comfortable to move in? Yeah.. me too! This week’s blog is dedicated to finding the right pair of jeans for your body type. I personally struggle with finding a pair of jeans that fit my thighs and my waist, while still being the proper length and not high waters. When I go out shopping for new jeans I usually try out multiple stores, but the outcome isn’t always good.

The first store I’d usually try is Forever 21. Don’t get me wrong, Forever 21 is a reasonably priced clothing store that sells quality fabric clothing that lasts quite some time. However, their jeans just aren’t for me. All the jeans I ever tried on at Forever 21 are either wayyyy too short, too tight on my thighs and extremely too loose around my waist or vise versa. Don’t even get me started on Forever 21’s sizing scale… In jeans, I’m usually a size 7 or 9, depending on the store, but in there, my jean size varies dramatically. Sometimes a size 9 wouldn’t even go past my knees. Forever 21 is known for their unique and affordable clothing, but I wouldn’t go there for jeans I know that for sure.

Image result for forever 21 jeans

Another store I’d try is Old Navy. One thing I love about Old Navy is that their sizing scale is extremely accurate and almost never disappoints. But for all my long-legged girls out there… Old Navy jeans aren’t for us. Even though the sign above the jean table reads, “Fit for everybody… Tall or short”, this statement doesn’t really apply to us tall girls. Old Navy jeans are more “snug” to your body type and don’t get worn or washed out too quickly. You could wash your Old Navy jeans 1000 times and they’ll still look brand new. However my only problem with their jeans is that it never fits my legs all the way to my ankles, and I don’t really want to wear high waters and capris all the time..so.. Thank you, next Old Navy!

Image result for old navy jeans

One last store I’d try out before throwing a tantrum because I could NEVER find jeans that fit me well enough is, Hollister. Hollister actually has the best jeans out of the two stores I mentioned before, however, my only problem is that Hollister is extremely expensive. One regular pair of denim high waisted jeans could go for nearly $50, and I know as a college student, $50 on ONE pair of jeans is ridiculous! I love how Hollister has sections for their jeans, by dividing the different styles and cuts from each other, as well as making a special section for tall girls! Hollister jeans fit me great from the waist all the way down to ankles, but my only problem is that they are too expensive and get really dingy really quickly.

Now, what yall actually came here for… Tips on picking out the right pair of jeans…

Tip #1:

Take your measurements at home before going to the store and having a hard time like me. Measure your waist size and inseam size to make it easier for you to just walk into the store and ask a sales associate for their help and to cut down on time if you are in a rush.

Tip#2:

Figure out your body shape. Is your body type an apple, pear, hourglass, or rectangle? Finding out your body shape and asking a sales associate for their help and opinion on what jean style would look good with your body type will make your job and their job 10 times easier to find the right fitting pair of jeans for you!

And lastly…

Tip #3:

Are you more of a low rise, mid-rise, or high waisted jean girl? If you’re honestly not sure or really don’t have a preference, maybe this will help..

Low rise: These jeans are for girls who want to show off their curves while avoiding the annoying waist gap problem.

Mid rise: These jeans are figure-friendly and comfortable for all body types and provide more structure around your midsection.

High rise: These jeans typically comfort the long-legged girls with smaller waists. More of the “hourglass” body types run to this jean style. They give you that “retro” look, plus they look great with crop tops too!

  • Sorry, this blog was a little bit longer than usual… But hopefully, my rant on never finding the right pair of jeans and my very few tips helped you out just a little!

Top 3 Trends to Try This Season!

As we all know, teens are very picky. Whether it be with what they eat for dinner, to what color nails to get at the nail salon, to what hairstyle goes best with an outfit, to what jewelry looks better, to finally, which heel matches best with a specific dress. Teens are always specific in what they want and how they want it. Teenage fashion trends are sometimes overwhelming due to the fact that what’s popular at the moment, may not be so popular a few days from now. Nobody knows teen fashion.. better than a teen herself! Here’s a list of the top three trends you should try out this season before a new trend comes out and you miss it!

Trend #1: Fanny Packs

Remember Fanny Packs being super popular in the 90s then died down and no one really ever spoke about them again and possibly forgot that they even existed at some point? Well.. there back! Fanny packs are almost like belts that help keep your pants up but also used to store small items like your phone, keys, lip gloss, or any other necessity you need when you don’t feel like carrying a large purse. I personally find this item to be a useful and cute accessory to add to your already stylish outfit. They are designed to adjust to any and all shapes and sizes out there and keep you looking up to date with its many designs, patterns, and unique colors.

Trend #2: Oversized Puffers

One of my personal favorite trends that came out this season is oversized puffers. Even though the weather has been fluctuating a lot the past couple of days, we still get those super cold nights that these puffers would work great for while still keeping you elegant and classy! These jackets range in many different fabric cuts, styles, colors, and looks that’ll go with every and anyone’s personality and fashion preferences.

Trend #3: Sherpa

For these cold and sometimes unbearable winter nights, wearing a sherpa is your best bet! The term “sherpa” mimics the bumpy and soft texture of sheeps wool. These lined coats are designed for freezing temperatures that you want to bundle up for but also look cute. They are light weighted and insulated against the cold with fur and or sheepskin on the inside as well as the outside. Sherpas come in a variety of designs, colors, and styles. Some come with buttons, zippers, strings, or just designed to mimic a cardigan. My sisters just recently bought me a cream-colored sherpa with black stitching that I absolutely fell in love with! The material is great for people like me who constantly get cold.

At the constant rate of fashion trends dying down so quickly… I suggest you try these out now! Each trend is super stylish and affordable for teens that want to put a little more pop in their wardrobe! Go grab each one of these items, try them out, and let me know how you like them.. Do they fit your style? Or is it a fashion disaster?!

Welcome Back My Fashionistas!

Hey ya’ll! Welcome back to my spring semester fashion blog! These semester blogs will be dedicated to some more tips and tricks, fashion DIYs, how to shop on a budget, pulling off a cheaper version of your favorite high-end fashion brands and so much more! As you all know from my first few blog posts from the first semester, one of the greatest love in my life is fashion. It gets me excited to talk as much as I want about what inspires me and gets me dreaming about for literally hours! I hope you’re ready for another semester full of fashion trends and ideas because I know I am!

For my first blog post, I want to talk about my latest wardrobe additions! Over the holiday break, I received two great items that I ended up falling in love with and decided to tell you all about them in the hope that you’ll love them just as much as I do to add them to your wardrobe as well.

1st Item: Black and White Plaid Pants

Now, when I first walked into Forever 21 and picked up a pair of plaid pants, I was a bit hesitant. I knew plaid pants used to be a popular go-to fashion item in the early 1950s and made a huge come back in 2018, but I wasn’t sure if I was ever going to accept this specific fashion choice… However, my new found love for plaid pants kind of surprised me. After trying on a pair of black and white plaid pants in the cluttered Forever 21 fitting rooms, I instantly fell in love! Wearing them gives you that french, retro, and chic vibe that you just can’t resist. Some rock these beautifully designed pants with sneakers, heels, or go the more formal way and pair it with flats. The one thing I love about these pants is that they come in more than one style. You can either have dressy, for the office, with pockets, with zippers, and even some come with biker chains! You can say what you want but I’m loving this fashion trend and everything it has to offer!

2nd Item: Yellow Fuzzy Crocs

I just want to start off by saying.. Who doesn’t love crocs?! Crocs are honestly the most comfortable and fashionable shoes that can be worn by the whole family. Crocs have been around nearly the same amount of time as me. They came out in 2002 and has been a hit since then. They’re worn from all ages. Starting from an infant to a toddler, to a teen, an adult and believe it or not, the elderly wear them too. My grandma loves hers! Over the holiday break, my sister had bought me the winter edition crocs that recently came out with the fur on the inside. When I tell you I fell in love… I FELL IN LOVE! Not only are crocs super comfortable to wear around the house or to school in the spring and summertime, but now I can enjoy wearing them in the winter without having to worry about my feet getting too cold! These cozy fleece-lined shoes are a major must-have!
