Snack for the best!

Good morning, everybody. I believe everybody has been power through the roughest midterm week, as a little treat, allow me to bring up a few hunger-fulfilling snacks in between studies and post-exam.

    1. Shrimp Chips – I can’t speak more about them! There are various choices at the grocery store behind the Hibachi Express/Mr. Wish, but remember, if there are Chinese/Korean characters on them, it’s a grantee soul shocking snack! Yes, yes, yes… I know what you thinking, is there any difference then regular chips? ABSOLUTELY! Different from the thin, crispy texture of potato and corn chips, shrimp chips own a texture much crunchier due to their thickness! Although they look bigger than any other chips, melting is their specialty. Exposing its full flavor, you can taste the flushing serge, vivacious shrimp, and slow-witted fishes, they create turbulences to impress all your taste buds. But weirdly, none of the flavors reacts to stick out or overwhelm, a perfect balance.                                                                    Homemade Green Tea Mochi is soft, chewy, and sweet with delicious matcha flavor and beautiful green color. This classic Japanese treat is really easy to make at home and better than that of your favorite restaurant! Plus you can customize the filling with red bean paste, strawberry, or ice cream. #GreenTeaMochi #MatchaMochi
    2. Mochi – Many of you have your favorite flavor, but for y’all who never had a chance for such a blessing, a matcha can never go wrong. A good mochi requires thin but chewy skin with the right amount of filling that won’t be oversweet or lack of sweetness, while the entire mochi doesn’t taste dry in any way. With all these strict restrictions, the final determination will be based on its sticky instead of chewy, no one should risk their life of suffocation for a mochi. If your mochi successfully passes all these examinations, then please enjoy it with a cup of hot tea or coffee! Not only does a sip of a hot beverage brush off all your aftertaste, and prepare you for the next bite, but also balances out the sweetness for good.                                              how to make chocolate covered strawberries - Simmons Venswithe
    3. Strawberry dip chocolate – I have received two different extreme sides of comments towards this snack, either you would love it with every ounce of your soul, or you hate it with an equal amount of passion. Personally, I find them a mind-blowing matching combo for an afternoon tea snack or movie complement. The tiny bit of sourness from strawberry carries out every aspect of sweetness and warmth of chocolate out, and when you bite in, a juicy after taste of strawberry quickly follows. BUUUUUT, please don’t make a big mess with this, chocolate may get all over the table or your shirt (don’t ask why I know). Please be aware!

  1. I have personally had the pleasure of trying both mochi and chocolate strawberries, and I love them both. Sadly, the last time I ate a chocolate strawberry I did make a bit of a mess on my shirt but the exquisite taste was worth it. Based on your other two choices, it seems that I have to try shrimp chips. While I am not much of a chip enjoyer it won’t stop me from trying it. Do you have any other sweet snack recommendations?

  2. I can’t say I’ve ever come across shrimp chips, it seems like an odd combination. However, if what you say is true, then I will have to try them. The concept of melting from chips is very interesting, usually, you would attribute this to chocolate and the like, so now I am definitely intrigued. My sister always loves mochi, but I never was a fan, perhaps it is an acquired taste. I could also say the same about chocolate-covered strawberries, as I never liked them growing up. However, I love anything chocolate, so I might have to give it a try once more.

  3. Omg. I love shrimp chips. I tried them for the first time in the fall semester and my mind was blown. They are salty, light, airy, and melt in your mouth. You can easily eat a bag in one sitting, I had to ration them. One of my favorite snacks is turtle chips, specifically the seaweed flavor! They are SO crunchy and yummy. If you haven’t tried them, you definitely should. It’s honestly scary how much I can ingest. I also love mochi! I love anything chewy (rice cakes especially), there’s just something about that certain texture that itches a part of my brain. Chocolate-covered strawberries are honestly underrated (in my opinion), they are so yummy!

  4. Robert, I am the biggest foodie and I also love a good snack. I have never tried shrimp chips but I am now very interested in them. I love chips and I also love all Asian food, so I am very surprised that I have not tried these yet. I also love Mochi and I get them anytime I see them at the grocery store!

  5. I really cannot fathom anyone expressing negative emotions about chocolate-covered strawberries, so I think I need to have a word with that person. Anyway, I read this blog post at the perfect time, as I need to figure out what to spend my extra meal plan money on. I will make sure to look out for each of these snacks around campus so I can indulge in delicious snacks over my last few days in State College!

  6. Shrimp chips sound so good! The thick nature that you’ve described them with remind me of tapioca chips that we get at our local Indian store. And who can go wrong with chocolate covered strawberries! These are the perfect combination between sour or tart and sweet, offering a symphony of tastes. I believe these are the best snacks and meals even.

  7. MMMMMMMMMMMMM. The way you describe the Shrimp chips is making me crave them right now. Although I don’t like mochi, I can respect the people that enjoy the dessert. Even as an ice cream lover, I can’t get myself to like mochi. However, I LOVE chocolate dipped strawberry. If I go to a party and see these, the plate will not be safe because I will devour all of them. Great post Robert!
