I agree with your argument, especially regarding how people won’t switch to electric cars unless they see an immediate problem with the environment. Some people may not think that one person buying a more eco-friendly car will do much good, and others may just not want to do it because of the higher prices. Whatever the reason, most people don’t seem to want to make the switch just yet. Maybe it will happen when a serious climate or environmental issue crops up, like how you described the elementary school shooting that pushed gun control action. Tax cuts may be a nice perk, but so far there just isn’t enough reason for people to buy them yet and I wonder when that day will come.
