Next up, I will stay in Thailand, but go to the other side of the country. In north-east Thailand, there is a city called Pattaya, located right on the Gulf of Thailand. It reminds me of the Florida of Thailand, the ultimate seaside location with a lot to do during the day, and then an exciting night life. The city is filled with resort hotels, luxury golf courses and extraordinary tourist attractions.
When I first arrive I will start by going straight to hotel to drop my belongings off, and then go to the city to get some authentic Thai food. I will go to this little cafe called Jasmin’s Cafe, filled with a bunch of cute dishes, perfect for a casual evening before I go out and spend the night exploring what else the city has to offer. It is the type of place where they serve your drink in glass jars, and they will give me these small appetizers that will be so delicious. It will be the picture-perfect way to start my night!
Next up, I will go to a famous street called the Walking Street, which is a street filled with neon signs and dance clubs that makes for a crazy atmosphere. This famous street is shut down every night, and that is when the neon signs come up for all of the bars, restaurants, and night clubs that will make it seem like I am in another universe. As I walk down the street, I will see many different types of people dressed in anything you can imagine. I will have a blast that night just experiencing the vibrant culture of Thailand. The main reason for touring around the world is to experience and learn from so many different cultures, and see how other people live their life. Walking down Walking Street will make me feel like I am in a movie, and then night will go on forever, until I can no longer walk any further, so I will head straight back to my hotel room and clock out right away.
In the morning, I will be ready to go on my next adventure in Pattaya. First, I will visit a popular tourist attraction called The Sanctuary of Truth, a completely wooden building covered in statues and historic structures that represent Thailands roots. It will be an incredible sight to see. I will walk through the halls of this sanctuary and be truly amazed at what I see because all of the art is carved directly into the walls. Everyone will be silent as I go through the halls and it will be such a relaxing way to start the day, almost like meditating, it will refresh me and I will be so thankful I got to experience this in Thailand.
Next on the list of things to do in Pattaya includes going to Pattaya’s Teddy Bear Museum! It will sound cheesy, but I love stuffed animals and toy stores, so it will seem like the perfect place for me to visit. It will be like Thailand’s own little Disneyland, in that on the outside it says they are a museum, but on the inside it is like a big toy store, that kids of any age can enjoy (even myself)! It will not feel like a boring museum at all, and will be a cute way to spend the day reminding me of my own childhood.
Last, in the afternoon, I will travel about 45 minutes outside of the city to go and relax at one of Pattaya’s famous beaches called Jomtien Beach. It is known for being one of the more laid back beaches, with less tourists, and it will take me away from the craziness of the city. It will be a nice way to end my time in Pattaya, and will make me very sad to leave, but I will always be excited to go on my next adventure!
I love the descriptive words you use in this post. When do you plan on visiting all of these places? I’m interested in learning more about the Sanctuary of Truth. I’m an architecture major, and I really like art history and the culture behind places. That structure seems like it has a lengthy history that I’d like to learn about. I also like how your pictures look almost like polaroids. I’m not sure if that was intentional or just the default of the theme, but it adds nicely to your travel topic.
