PREDICTION TIME

It’s a stormy, rainy day Packers fans, but that means only one thing: some hard-running, old-school, and heavy tackling mud football. In a few hours, our beloved Packers will take on The New England Patriots led by, perhaps, the greatest coach of all time, Bill Belichick. In today’s blog, let’s go over my pre-game predictions.

Last week, we saw Green Bay dominant on the defensive end of the football. Recording three sacks and two fumble recoveries, this defense was a ticking bomb. With a weaker offensive line of the New England Patriots, I expect these numbers to skyrocket. It’s no surprise that the game will be won defensively. Green Bay will have to set the tone of this match by shutting down the Patriots’ offensive scheme almost instantly. It’s quite a simple game plan: attack, pressure, and force veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer to throw the ball away. It will lead to picks, sacks, and within one hour, a victory for the Packers. My final prediction for the defense: six sacks, one fumble, and one interception. Let’s set the pace early on and win us a football game.

If Green Bay wants to dominate all aspects of the game, it’s no question that the special teams must perform again. After last week’s beautiful special teams performance, Special Teams Coordinator Rich Bisaccia must have a thorough game plan to combat the wits of Bill Belichick. We will need strong returns of 25+ yards, perfect field goals, and punts nailed to inside the 10-yard line. If this special teams unit comes out to perform again, a victory for the Green Bay Packers is almost guaranteed. Remember the name I told you all about last week? Keisean Nixon. I want to see him BALL. Let’s get the man the praise he deserves. With Nixon in the lineup, victory is ours.

Now, the offense. We CAN NOT have a repeat of last week — the tale of two halves. After putting up 0 points in the second half after a monstrous 14 in the first, Green Bay’s offense stalled drive after drive. The Patriots’ defense is much weaker compared to that of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s imperative Green Bay begins with a quick start that continues for the rest of the game. Once our offense loses momentum, it’s game over. Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur need to find a connection with the rest of the offense. Whether that’s continuously running the ball with the best running back tandem in the NFL or throwing laser accurate passes to the wide receivers, this offense needs to make sure their drives are sustained for the ENTIRE game. If they can do that, Green Bay will be sitting atop the North with a lovely 3-1 record.

With that being said Packers fans, let me give you my final Gametime prediction. Drumroll, please. With a crushing victory from the Packers, I have Green Bay winning 30-17 against the New England Patriots. GO PACK GO!!
