I’m at a loss for words. Green Bay has lost in London. We are 3-2.
After what seemed to be an efficient, high-scoring, and dangerous first half of football for the Green Bay Packers, the game immediately turned sideways. After one of the best halves of football we’ve seen from Green Bay this entire year, the New York Giants fought back with 17 unanswered points to win the football game and move on to 4-1.
Before we discuss the brutal, gut-wrecking second half, let’s note some of today’s positives. The first half of today’s game was absolutely gorgeous: vintage Aaron Rodgers, prime Randall Cobb, and elite defense. It was a beautiful half of football. So where did we go wrong? Maybe it was the fact that I slept into most of this game. Maybe Green Bay’s troubles arose from not wearing my lucky Packers Bracelet or Beanie. Or maybe it was the lack of energy and coaching in the second half. Atrocious.
Going up by 10 in the second half against a depleted offense is a game many would consider to be over. Not for Green Bay. Within minutes, Saquon Barkley led the offense to multiple scoring drives immediately tying the game. Before we knew it, Green Bay’s inept second-half coaching caused them a game they easily should have won.

There was simply no energy on all sides of the football. Once again, our hyped defense failed to stop one of the NFL’s dominant running backs, Saquon Barkley. Our special teams, for the first time this season, failed to make plays on special teams. Our offense began to stall with questionable calling from Matt LaFleur. It was an all-around disaster and rollercoaster for Packers fans.

Now, the Giants are no cakewalk of a team. After all, they are 4-1 and second in the NFC East. But considering how weak this Giant’s offense was in terms of players, staff, and faculty, this was a MUST-win game for the Packers. We simply cannot afford games like these where we barely hang on and lose the game; the offense, defense, and special teams need to click NOW. Time and time again, this offense starts off on fire to only halt later in the game. On the defensive side of the ball, our players are missing tackles, fumbles, and hits. These are all costly game-deciding factors that have resulted in our losses, and will continue to do so if they are not addressed. Otherwise, we are in for a long-season Packers fans.
The silver-lining? Our tired team now has extra time to recover, condition, and mentally/physically prepare for the New York Jets next week. With the Jets also struggling to find their step in this hectic NFL season, one can only hope that our Packers can come out as champions next week. Remember Packers fans, it’s only week 5. We are 3-2 with a long season ahead of us. I’ll see you all next week Packers fans. GO PACK GO!!
Great blog, I can feel your passion and support for the Packers through your words. I love the pictures and posts that you used throughout your blog to back up what you were saying. I find it interesting how you analyzed the faults made by the Giants and you were so specific in a way that a novice like me can understand. Keep up the good work, I look forward to reading more.
