For the start of my third week at Penn State I was given the task of going to the learning center. I have never gone to a place that gives me feedback on my writing before, so it was definitely a new experience.
On Tuesday I headed over to the Boucke Building with my first paper for Comm 100. My first steps in I could tell it was one of the non renovated buildings on campus. Despite my original thoughts on the building, once I entered the learning commons upstairs I was pleasantly surprised. The room itself seemed a lot more renovated than the rest of the building. Since many people were there to get their papers read through and the holiday weekend had just happened there was a bit of a wait for a tutor. Instead of sitting and doing nothing it actually gave me time to do other assignments on my to do list such as going to the media center to check out a camera. Walking all the way to the media center was a hike, but in the end I got what I needed.
Once I was back in the learning center I had a little more free time to continue my essay. Soon I was the next person in line to get my paper reviewed. My time there was very helpful with the guidance I was given for the rest of my essay. Since my essay was not completely finished he gave me advice on how I should continue the rest. In the end I was proud of the outcome of my essay. I now feel like I can write at a higher level than I was before, thanks to the peer tutor. For any more upcoming writings I need help with I know I can count on the learning center to give me guidance.
