If you have spent any time watching Netflix in the past years you have seen ‘Gossip Girl’ constantly popping up in your feed. For those who have watched the show and loved it there is great news for you. The show is in the talks for a new spinoff.

The original show was broadcast on the channel the CW and originating from a novel by Cecily von Ziegesar. It was filmed for six seasons and in 2012 it was canceled. The spinoff show was picked up by WarnerMedia which will be streamed on HBO Max. Since the spinoff is on HBO Max the episodes will differ from the original series. Before the show included 40 minute episodes and about 22 episodes each season, but in the new spinoff each episode will be an hour long and only ten episodes in the season.

Since the show is in the early stages of production it’s unclear if any of the original cast member will be returning. It is known that the Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf duo will not be the center of attention. The show will be about a new set of teens living the luxury life as an elite in New York City. It’s shown eight years since the finale of the original show. The new private school teens will be introduced to gossip girl in the new series.

For anyone who is trying to patiently wait for the new series to come out there is some good news. Spring of 2020 is the expected time for the show to be streamed on HBO Max. As for the pricing of the streaming service, it is still up in the air of how much money it will be to stream. Be sure to keep an eye out for more details that will come out if you’re as excited as I am for the new spinoff.
