MMS: Dunkin’ Adds New Item to Their Menu

For all the non meat eaters in New York City there is good news for you. Dunkin has just announced their new faux-meat sausage breakfast sandwich. This comes after the company Beyond Meat Inc. went to public offerings. Dunkin has joined in like many others and became a new client of the faux meat company.

The new sandwich will only be available in the Dunkin stores located in Manhattan. There are around 550 Dunkins located in New York City and 163 of those will be selling the sandwich. The sandwich has the price of $4.29 which is 14 cents higher than the same real meat sandwich. Although New York is where the only availability of the sandwich is, the plan is to eventually have the rest of the country in reach of it.

Since the new item is faux-meax the plan is to have the favor as close as possible to the real meat sandwich. To do this they will have a mixture of spices to replicate the original. They are even cooking the sandwich separate from the rest of the meat sandwiches to ensure no cross contamination is possible.

In industry of plant-based products is increasing so Beyond Meat is now becoming more value to other big companies. The huge company Tim Hortons, that is based in Canada, also has Beyond Meat breakfast sandwiches on their menu. Hortons are also in the works of adding lunch and dinner options from Beyond.

Beyond Meat is not the only provider in the industry. Impossible Foods is one of the bigger competitors. Impossible creates the Impossible Whopper which is sold at various Burger King around America. Beyond Meat has other big names working with them such as TGI Fridays.

I’m sure the new menu item with have a lot of buzz when it hits the stores of Manhattan.
