This past week I have gotten the most comfortable with being here then I ever have in these past weeks. My good friend from home visited me on Friday and I always love to have visitors. We walked around the campus and of course ended up at the creamery.
By the next afternoon my friend had left leaving me with the classic boring college Saturday. Something I’m going to need to figure out is what to do on the weekend days. So far the weekends consist of me somehow doing nothing until it reaches 6pm. This Saturday was surely memorable because while walking downtown I happen to run into a parrot. Of course I had to stop and ask for a picture. I learned the parrot was a girl and her name was Sundance. That was definitely a new experience for me.
This week I also became better friends with the people in my leap class. It only took until the fifth week to actually have an activity we mostly all went to. We ended up going laser tagging and it had to be one of the most fun things I have done all summer. After laser tagging we stopped for some amazing food.
The best part about being by downtown is all the restaurants. It seemed like I may have strayed from my meal points a little this week. On Saturday I tried out a place for lunch with my friend called Irving’s. I ended up getting a sandwich and it honestly what just the type of food I have been craving. Another place I went to was after laser tagging and by far the best fries I have ever had in my life. I ordered a basket of fries with cheese all over them and it was truly perfection. After class a few of my friends and I stopped by a bagel shop. By the time we got there it was around lunch time so I ended up getting a plain bagel with mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, and pesto. That bagel had to be the best bagel I have ever eaten.
It’s crazy to think summer session is over in less than a week. As much as I enjoyed being here in the summer I am very ready for the fall to start.
