In 2014, Penn State became one of the first college Pulsar Search Collaboratory HUBs to help aid surrounding high school students in their efforts to catalogue drift scan data retrieved by the Green Bank Telescope. Penn State PSC students assist surrounding high schools start-up their own PSC teams. Penn State continues its involvement with these teams throughout the year by hosting events such as database marathons, help sessions, outreach events, and an end of the year capstone event. Seriously, what other team at the high school level can a student be apart of a supportive professional scientific network community which stretches across the country, have a chance of making a discovery, become a published co-author on a scientific paper, and receive college research credit?
