If you’re trying to stay up to date with what the Lady Lions have been up to, here is your update! First, the girls had a couple of birthdays they celebrated over the past week. Their wonderful head coach, Katie Malone, along with outside hitter Jillian Palmer had birthdays. The team traveled up to University Park for a long day of watching and playing volleyball. The team left at 8:30 in the morning and traveled up to the Nittany Valley sports complex for the PSUAC Crossover. The team’s first game was held at 12:30 against Penn State Greater Allegheny. Unfortunately, the team took a hard fall and lost 0-3. A lot of effort was given on the court but more communication could have been utilized. After the first game was completed, the girls went and rested up and got some food. Olivia Vega from the team told me, her go-to in-between games food is pizza. If you play a sport what’s yours? Tell us in the comments!
After some good fuel and bit of rest, the girls then returned to the gym to start to warm up. Their next game began at 4:30 against Penn State Fayette. The girls lost the first set but battled back to win the second set. Sadly the Lady Lions settled the last two sets in a tough loss. The girls will be working hard to improve the mistakes that were made in the two games to hopefully come out with a win on Wednesday. Schuylkill will face Penn State Hazelton at home at 6:00.
The team appreciates the supportive and committed student section that has come to every game. Over the weekend while up at Old Main, a few students also made the drive to come out and support their fellow peers. You better clear your schedule for Wednesday night to make sure you are at the game. You do not want to miss out on all the action! Check back for more upcoming games happening throughout the week! #DIGIT!
