WHAT’S NEW?

A lot of upcoming and important events for the Penn State Schuylkill Girls volleyball team this month.  Monday the 18th the team has an away game at Lehigh Valley. They have previously played them and took the win. The girls are hoping they can do that again on Monday. Fast forward through the week the team will take on York on the 22nd away at York’s home court. Unfortunately, the team did not come out on top last time we played them.  The girls have been working hard and practicing their previous mistakes made to come back better to take the win. Although the 22nd will be the team’s last in-season game that means more practice and working even harder. The Lady Lions will then play in the quarterfinals on Thursday, October 28th. Just a preview of what the future holds, if and when the girls win in the quarterfinals, they will then advance on to the semifinals. That game will be held at University Park on Monday, November 1st.  More info is to come on these games.

If you missed what happened over the weekend the girls traveled to Wilkes-Bare and took the win. This was the second time we played them and the second time we beat them.  Over the weekend the team also welcomed back one of their players! Jada Brant an outside hitter, was admitted into the hospital due to respiratory problems. The team still supported her by getting her a card and sending her check-in messages daily. The doctors treated her and she recovered speedily to get back out onto that court. She attended the game and even got to score her first point in the game, Go Jada!!

The volleyball team also would like to encourage students to make sure they sign up and attend THON, donations have been made from the volleyball team and you will also see some of the girls there! If you do, make sure you go up and say hi!

If you get the chance, come out and support these girls and the next upcoming events! #DIGIT!
