On November 8th, AHS with support from the LORD Corporation was able to host the first annual Rotor Day. Students from local middle schools and high schools attend the event to learn about how helicopters fly. There were hands-on demonstrations including, airfoil lift, drag, gears, gyroscopes, rotor vibration, a fun facts game show, and a quadcopter obstacle course. All of the students had a great time learning about helicopters and aerospace engineering. Rotor Day was inspirational to students in an influential time of their lives. AHS would like to give a special thanks to the LORD Corporation for their generous donation and to the AHS members that volunteered their Saturday afternoon that made Rotor Day a huge success.
