On November 12th AHS hosted Austin Overmeyer from the U.S. Army Aviation Engineering Directorate-AFDD at NASA Langley Research Center. He is a recent graduate of Penn State University where he completed his B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering.His primary responsibility is conducting powered rotor wind tunnel testing at the 14×22 Subsonic Tunnel for the Joint Research Program Office (JRPO). JRPO was awarded the AHS Grover E. Bell Award and the NASA Group Achievement Medal for their work on the OH-58F wind tunnel test. Austin spoke about active flow control, rotor performance and advancement measurement techniques including pressure sensitive paint (PSP) and particle image velocimetry (PIV).
