On Saturday, November 14th 2015, we hosted our 2nd Annual STEM Rotor Day. STEM Rotor Day is an event that reaches out to children in the community to excite them about the STEM fields and hopefully inspire them to follow a STEM career path, or, at the very least, enjoy STEM classes a bit more! We had various demonstrations including a small scale wind tunnel, RC quadcopter lessons, a flight simulator, a gyroscope, a QH-50 UAV, and much more. We also provided aerospace lab tours. Nearly 200 people attended the event!
STEM Rotor Day has been recognized by AHS International. The event is featured on their STEM website, and in the January/February edition of Vertiflite Magazine. Our chapter was also invited to present at the STEM Committee Meeting at AHS Forum 72!
