The Penn State Chapter of the Vertical Flight Society is the Central Pennsylvania chapter of the world’s only international technical society for engineers, scientists, and enthusiasts working to advance vertical flight technology such as helicopters, tiltrotors, drones, and more. Our chapter provides various technical seminars to inform students and members about advancements in rotorcraft technology and connect our members with industry, academia, and government leaders.

Penn State VFS prioritizes engaging the local community through STEM outreach, such as our own widely recognized event, STEM Rotor Day. As a group, we organize trips to various rotorcraft museums, as well as companies in vertical flight such as Boeing, Sikorsky, Bellflight, KAMAN Aerospace, and Leonardo Helicopters.
