I chose to write my blog post on motion parallax because it is what I encounter almost every day. Motion parallax is a monocular depth cue that when you see images farther away in your visual field, they will appear to move slower than objects closer to you in your visual field. For example, my four years at college I have taken the trip back and forth to school numerous times. Driving on I-80, there are two/three lanes going home (New Jersey/New York), and on the opposite side there are about two/three lanes traveling back (PA/State College). The cars closer to me driving in the lane right next to me, are going just about my speed if not faster. The cars on the opposite side of the high way appear to be moving slower because they are farther away in my visual field. This cue could happen to every one not only when they are driving in the car but other experiences as well.
