If you don’t want to lose your game before Sunday even hits, we are here to help. We’ll make sure you leave that early week dud on the bench and start off your weekend with a lead.

The Game

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans

The matchup between the Jaguars and the Titans figures to be an ugly slugfest, with the over/under is currently set at a paltry 43.5. Both teams have struggled to produce consistent value this year outside of DeMarco Murray. Murray is the only elite option tonight in what should be a low-scoring, slow-paced affair.

Quarterbacks

Blake BortlesBortles has really struggled this year and that will not change doing against Dick Lebeau’s Tennessee defense. Bortles will be pressured all night and will struggle to get anything going. Consider Bortles a low end QB2 in two quarterback leagues.

Marcus Mariota – Mariota, on the other hand, has had some very good fantasy performances as of late. Jacksonville, however, has one of the best passing defenses in the league. Mariota has the ability to overcome good coverage with his overall playmaking ability, which puts him in play for me tonight. Mariota is a solid streaming option if if your starter is one of the six that are on bye..

Running Backs

DeMarco Murray – DeMarco Murray has been the number one fantasy running back this year. Play him everywhere.

Chris Ivory – Ivory has been the go to red zone back, making him slightly more appealing to me than his counterpart T.J. Yeldon. Stay away from this muddled backfield, but if you have to choose, go with Ivory.

Wide Receivers

Tajae Sharpe – Sharpe is the number one wide receiver on this team, but simply does not have the necessary upside to play every week. His best game was in Week 1, but that was a 76 yard day without a touchdown, which made him a borderline flex that week. That’s the best he’s offered thus far. Until he flashes more upside, Sharpe belongs on your bench.

Rishard Matthews/Andre Johnson – Both of these receievers are inconsistent options with a chance at a touchdown this week. The Jaguars passing defense is above average, which would make me lean away from playing either of these guys this week. Consider them to be WR4/5 with low upside.

Allen Robinson – What has happened to Allen Robinson? I still believe in his ability to turn his season around. Just not tonight. Robinson draws arguably the toughest matchup of all the receivers, going against Jason McCourty. He still leads the team in targets, which makes him a WR2/3 every week. Play Robinson and hope that he finds his way into the end zone.

Allen Hurns – Hurns finds himself matched up against the subpar Brice McCain in the slot tonight. He does not usually offer much upside, but is a solid WR3 in PPR leagues and a low upside WR4 in standard leagues due to his easy match-up.

Marqise Lee – Lee is a higher upside play than Hurns tonight. He had seven catches for 107 yards last week and gets a very good match-up against Antwon Blake. Play Lee in your flex for a high upside option that could potentially give you a big lead going into the weekend.

Tight Ends

Julius Thomas – Thomas is still being considered a game time decision which makes this a scary situation for me. The Titans were destroyed by backup tight end Jack Doyle last week, which makes this match-up intriguing. Thomas has already been so inconsistent to start the year. This injury makes me lean towards keeping Thomas on the bench for this week.

Delanie Walker – The Jaguars have been very tough on tight ends up until this point of the season. Walker has been a consistent target in this offense, however, which makes him very hard to leave on your bench. Start Walker as a TE1 this week.

Kickers

Jason Myers – This game projects to be low scoring, giving Myers relatively few scoring opportunities. Leave Myers on waivers.

Ryan Succop – And for that same reason, do the same with Succop.

Defense/Special Teams

Jacksonville Jaguars – The Jaguars could easily force Mariota into turnovers tonight. They could be a sneaky good streaming option. A blow out is unlikely, which gives them a solid floor.

Tennessee Titans – The Titans have been a high scoring defense up to now and will get a chance to continue that trend this week. Blake Bortles loves to throw interceptions which will give the Titans defense ample scoring chances tonight. Tennessee is a top 10 defensive option this week.
