The building has multiple rooms that are capable of hosting performances, including a 400-seat playhouse, the 1500-seat Joan Sutherland Theatre, and a concert hall that can hold nearly 3000 people. Nicknamed “the coathanger” for its arched design, the Sydney Harbour Bridge connects Sydney’s main business district to the North Shore neighborhood. Many tourists like to take advantage of the bridge’s walkways to walk or bike. Multiple points across the bridge allows them to stop and observe the gorgeous views that the bridge provides. For those who are particularly adventurous (and who lack a fear of heights) can participate in organized climbs to the very top of the bridge. Climbs are offered at many different times, so visitors can see the city during the day, at night, or even watch the sun set over the beautiful city.

Located right in between the opera house and the bridge, Circular Quay is Sydney’s most popular ferry and boat port. Filled with restaurants, stores, and small parks, the area is almost always filled with locals and tourists. Some visitors who want an interesting cultural experience come here to see the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia or the City of Sydney Library. Many flock to Circular Quay on New Year’s Eve for fireworks and festivities at one of the world’s best New Years parties. Another annual event held here is Water Polo by the Sea, a four-day water polo competition with participants from all across the globe.
