From the Architect:
How do you approach integrating culture into design?
“When you approach a project it’s not just you, you have a team. Typically you are connected through the same values as the client. They know they will get an architect who is an activist. They will know that I am an immigrant, and I share that experience with many others. The idea that your design can create an impact is what every immigrant wants, to be able to make a difference and help other people achieve a better life. But I am not representative of all identities. In Studio Luz, I try to link with our other associates. We have a very diverse team, so there is a lot of different cultural knowledge to draw from.”
