Despite being a gas station, the Helios House is still designed with energy efficiency and environmental consciousness in mind. Some materials were upcycled from the existing gas station that occupied the site, and new materials that were brought onto the site were sustainable and recyclable. Solar panels are used in this design as a more environmentally friendly source of power, as well as energy-efficient lights that reduce overall electricity consumption.
