Toshiko Mori’s 277 Mott Street project is a unique approach to façade design in New York City. This project stands out against the historic masonry construction in the area, opting instead for a twisting façade that emphasizes a more technological approach to architecture. The carved granite shapes required heavy use of digital modeling software to design. The architectural team worked closely with the stone manufacturers to bring the idea to life.
