Zuresh was a rebranding project Ariana Wright created for her thesis in grad school at ChathamUniversity. Zuresh is a Black female-owned hair care company based in NorthCarolina. Her goal for the project was to create a new look for the hair care line by paying homage to apothecaries while still incorporating Zuresh’s original organic vibe. She wanted the brand to feel luxurious, unisex, and moody but give off a sense of light so people could relate.

During her thesis research portion, she learned a lot about African American hair and beauty standards. It also brought back memories from when she was little when her mother used a hot comb on her hair while preparing for Easter Sunday. Ariana valued her personal connection to her thesis and believed it enhanced the final design in the end.
