Video Game Battle Rulings

These battle Rulings are aplied to all styles of play in the Pokémon Video Game outside of pokemon VGC.

Banned Pokémon

  • Aegislash
  • Arceus (All Forms)
  • Blaziken (Only Speed Boost)
  • Darkrai
  • Deoxys (All Forms)
  • Dialga
  • Genesect
  • Giratina (All Forms)
  • Groudon
  • Ho-oh

  • Landorus (Only Incarnate Form)

Species Clause

Only one Pokémon of each Pokédex number may be used within a single battle.

Endless Battle Clause

Players cannot use any moveset on any Pokémon capable of intentionally causing an endless battle.

Evasion Clause

You cannot use any move, item or abilities that would raise a Pokémon’s evasion.

Batton Pass Clause:

Players cannot use a pokemon with the move Batton Pass.

Moody, Arena Trap and Shadow Tag Clause

A team cannot have a Pokémon with the ability Moody, Arena Trap or Shadow Tag

OHKO and Swagger Clause

Players cannot use moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, Sheer Cold or Swagger

Additional Notes

Any tornament may some variation to these rules when specified.

If any rule is broken during a tournament, it will result in automatic drop in competition. Repeate offenders will be dealt with at the officer’s discretion.

 

Trading Card Game Rulings

Trading card game play will follow the official trading card games rules and rotation.

Standard

Players can play any cards from XY: Break Point to the present set release

Expanded

Players can play any cards from Black and White to present set release except the following:

  • Forest of Giant Plants (XY: Ancient Orgins 74)
  • Lysandre Trump Card (Phantom Forces 99)

Pokken Tournament Battle Rullings

These Battle Rulings apply to events involving Pokken Tournament. All tournaments will either be set in a double elimination or round robin style.

Game, Set, Match

Tournaments will either be best of one or best of three

  • Best of One: Best of One will constitute up to three games total. First player to take two games wins the set and the match. Both players will be locked into choice of character, support, and cheer before the set begins. Pokemon, support, and cheer choice can be changed throughout the tournament. 

  • Best of Three: Best of Three will constitute up to three sets total. A set include up to three games. First player to take two games wins the set. First player to take two sets win the match. Both players will pick choice of Pokemon, support, and cheer choice. The winner of a set will be locked into their selections from the last set before the start of the next set. The player who loses a set may change Pokemon, support, and cheer choice if they wish.
