RCR training must completed within the first two years of postdoctoral training period. If appointment extends for more than four years, training must be repeated.
Purpose
- Encourage active participation of trainees
- Involve faculty in the training, especially postdoctoral mentors
- Inclusive approach for international postdoctoral scholars
- Curriculum includes new NIH requirements for formal instruction in rigorous experimental design and transparency to enhance reproductibility
Online CITI training in RCR – must be completed within 3 weeks of first day of employment at the COM. Multiple language formats are available. (Certificates of completion will be sent to Postdoc office).
- RCR Basic course– required for postdocs who have had no prior RCR training: Authorship; collaborative research; conflicts of interest; data management; financial responsibility; mentoring; peer review; plagiarism; human subjects research; research misconduct; animal research
- RCR Refresher course– for postdocs who have taken RCR training previously at this or another U.S. institution: Authorship; collaborative research; conflicts of interest; data management; mentoring; peer review; human subjects; animal research; research misconduct
