Who are we?

Planned Parenthood Generation Action, or PPGen, is a registered student organization at Penn State, but is also a project of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund nationwide. According to the Planned Parenthood website, PPGen is “a movement of young people across identities and issues that organizes with, by, and for their generation in order to achieve reproductive freedom. PPGen groups all across the country engage their campus to organize, host events, educate their peers about sexual health, register voters, work with their elected officials, and support their local Planned Parenthood health centers.”

At The Pennsylvania State University in Centre County, PA, our club aims to incite change both on campus and within our community. Because we do not have a Planned Parenthood location near State College, the issues we focus more on include changing the stigma on topics such as abortion and STI testing, safe sex education, and voter registration and education.

Our Mission: Planned Parenthood Generation Action at The Pennsylvania State University exists to educate the university community about reproductive health and rights, to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus, and to serve as a coalition partner to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts. Planned Parenthood Generation Action at The Pennsylvania State University believes in the fundamental right of every individual to manage his or her fertility. Planned Parenthood Generation Action at The Pennsylvania State University supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality.
