Penn State’s Premedical-Medical (PMM) Program is an extremely selective 7-year (no summers required) program at The Pennsylvania State University. Admissions involves a rigorous application and interview process. Accepted students complete 3 years of undergraduate education at the Penn State campus in University Park, PA, followed by 4 years at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) in Philadelphia, PA.
Students in the accelerated program take similar undergraduate courses to typical premedical students on a traditional 4-year track, and they are expected to maintain high academic performance, much like four-year students who hope to gain admission to medical school. Students must obtain a minimum score on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). The current MCAT requirement is a 504 composite score with no less than 126 on any individual subsection. Students are also expected to maintain a 3.5 science and overall GPA throughout the course of their undergraduate studies. Failure to do so may result in withdrawal from the program. Students interested in the program can find more information about the admission requirements, the costs, and the application process here.
