Justin Pritchard received his B.S. from U.C.L.A, and his Ph.D. from the labs of Mike Hemann(Cancer Genetics) and Doug Lauffenburger(Biological Engineering). Justin did a postdoc in pathogen genomics in Eric Rubin’s lab at Harvard University where he collaborated heavily with Matthew Waldor’s lab.
After realizing that the only way to truly gain hands-on experience in drug discovery was to make a significant career move, Justin took a leap into the pharmaceutical industry. In 2013, he started work at Ariad Pharmaceuticals, located right in the middle of Cambridge’s bustling tech square. At Ariad, he learned a whole new way to think about the science and practice of drug discovery.
Over the years, Justin has gained invaluable experience leading a team of scientists at a multi-billion dollar drug company. He has worked on targeted therapy and immunotherapy.
When he’s not trying to understand drugs, Justin enjoys crafting high-quality wooden skateboards and furniture, exploring Boston, hiking and spending time with his wife, Beth, their daughter Evie Jane, and tiny rescue dog, Scruffy.
