Jerrie Johnson

My name is Jerrie Johnson and I was born and raised in the City of Brotherly LoJerrieve, Philadelphia. I am a Senior at Penn State majoring in Theater with a focus in acting performance, with a minor in Women’s Studies. I am a Woman’s rights activist, a feminist, a poet, and an artist. I came to Penn State to be the first in my family to attend and graduate college. Some of my many involvements here at Penn State include: directing and featured in For Colored Girls, membership in W.O.R.D.S Slam Team Competition Group, modeling in the 5th annual NABA Fashion, and winning Miss Scholarship in the Alpha’s Miss Black and Gold Pageant. I applied to Project Cahir so that I could help students with situations similar to mine. Being a part of Project Cahir I hope that I can assist in lowering the hardship for college students in poverty. My goal in life is to have my impact remembered way beyond my years
