Revitalizing the Scenic Model
Often, when scenic models outlive their material purpose, they are retired to “model graveyards”—piles of forlorn models discarded on dusty shelves in the studios of set designers.
How might scenic models take on a new purpose in their afterlife?
Continuing our exploration of how the material influences theatre praxis, we seek photographs of discarded and/or ruined scenic models that the editors will pair with playwrights who will, in turn, write a play that takes place in the world the scenic model invites them to stage.
We invite broad interpretations of the term “scenic model”.
