Behrend’s Alternative Spring Break Helps Rebuild Island Community
“Alternative Spring Break (ASB) has provided me with my most memorable experiences throughout my 4 years here at Behrend. Being surrounded by a group of like-minded individuals with the same goal of providing service to others is one of the most rewarding experiences you could be a part of. I have gained strong friendships with students that I would not have otherwise seen on campus and have learned lessons about myself and the world around me while participating in ASB.
Aside from a week of service, ASB provides an educational aspect where you can learn more about the community you are serving, so you can better understand and empathize with the individuals around you. ASB is a great way to get connected to organizations that you can volunteer at wherever home may be for you.“- Lauren Barmore
